Alameda, CA, March 28, 2018 -- Brewbies® (#Brewbies) craft brew festival is back for a third year. Taking place on Saturday, April 21, 2018, from 1 – 5 p.m. in Alameda, CA, with a special VIP (sold out!) hour beginning at noon, the festival will feature over 50 breweries from across California. Faction Brewing, with its spectacular view of San Francisco and large outdoor setting, will provide the space for this festive event that solely benefits The Keep A Breast Foundation (KAB). As 100% of the proceeds will to go KAB’s Non Toxic Revolution program, young people will continue to learn about the importance of limiting their exposure to toxic chemicals in their everyday lives, early detection, and breast cancer prevention.
The popularity of this event has now attracted even more craft breweries, including Bagby Beer, Three Weavers, Boneyard Beer, Russian River, Pizza Port, Hollister Brewing, and Altamont. One of the reasons why Brewbies has been so popular and well-attended is that beer aficionados from across The Bay get to sample one-of-a-kind brews specifically created for this event. New this year, Brewbies founder, Melanie Pierce is brewing a collaboration beer with Faction called Citraison - a 40bbl batch of light, crisp, pleasantly hopped Saison with Citra Hops and 20lbs of Rose Hips - that will be bottled and distributed with $1 of every pint going to Keep A Breast! To top it off, artist, Jay Howell (of “Bob’s Burgers” and “Sanjay and Craig”) designed the label.
And if the beer isn’t enough to attract enthusiasts, KAB hosts a huge raffle and auction featuring art from Thomas Campbell, Skinner, Jay Howell, Jen Props, Shepard Fairey, and Grant Brittain. Raffle items include Creature Skateboards, GNU Snowboards, Ernie Ball Sterling Guitar, Bionic Surfboards, HUF, Klean Kanteen, and Rastaclat just to name a few.
“Keep A Breast has been going for 18 years and we created Brewbies to support KAB’s education and outreach efforts,” says Melanie Pierce. “With my background working in beer and my vested interest in helping KAB reach out to young people around the globe in settings they attend, establishing Brewbies, first in Oceanside (Bagby’s Beer) and then bringing it up to The Bay Area three years ago, was a natural progression. We are so glad that Brewbies has been embraced the way it has. It has turned out to be our biggest fundraising effort in the history of KAB and we are truly grateful to our fans and supporters for turning out.”
Jay Howell will take his talents to the turntable doubling as the event DJ, and a big shout out to Kleege Industries who are providing staging equipment for the day.

The Keep A Breast Foundation:
The Keep A Breast Foundation™ is a nonprofit organization with a mission to empower young people around the world with breast health education and support. Since its inception in 2000, KAB has worked with young people to remove the shame associated with breasts and breast cancer health. Through various initiatives such as breast cast art exhibitions, the “Non Toxic Revolution” and "I love boobies!" campaign, KAB has opened up the dialog about breast cancer and has proven to be a doorway to breast self-awareness and education.
