THE KEEP A BREAST FOUNDATION KICKS OFF 2019 FIT 4 PREVENTION CAMPAIGN

Breast cancer charity promoting disease prevention through fitness and wellness.

LOS ANGELES - August 27, 2019 - Global non-profit, The Keep A Breast Foundation™, is launching its 4th annual national fundraising campaign, Fit 4 Prevention, to raise $1 million for breast cancer education, empowerment and early detection. Fit 4 Prevention raises awareness about cancer prevention through fitness and wellness by inspiring individuals, families, and workplaces to be their own health advocates. Fit 4 Prevention is presented by GoMacro, MINDBODY and The Barre Code. The campaign has even inspired a two-time Super Bowl champion and Pro Bowl running back to get involved.

Keep A Breast invites studios, gyms, and fitness centers alike to join Fit 4 Prevention by hosting donation-based classes and fundraising events in their communities this September and October. The funds that are raised directly benefit Keep A Breast’s mission of empowering young people around the world with breast health education and support.

Keep A Breast Founder, Shaney jo Darden shares, “We know that 30 minutes a day of exercise can lower one’s risk of breast cancer by upwards of 30 to 50 percent. This outstanding statistic is exactly why we are encouraging participants everywhere to share their fitness and wellness stories on social media with #Fit4Prevention. Let's continue the conversation about fitness and cancer prevention to show as many individuals as possible that they have the ability to save their own life.”

Fit 4 Prevention’s vital sponsors include GoMacro, MINDBODY, The Barre Code, Leus, and Nuun. The campaign’s growing network of supporters also includes fitness instructor Carrie Dorr, two-time Super Bowl champion and trainer Dennis Dixon, Pro Bowl running back Jonathan Stewart, and professional snowboarders and health advocates Kjersti Buaas and Chanelle Sladics—among many others!

Darden relayed, “Signing up to host a class only takes two minutes online, and it’s a great way to connect with potential clients and keep current clients engaged.”

Studios, gyms, trainers or fitness groups who sign up will receive a Fit 4 Prevention Kit including “i love boobies!” bracelets, educational materials, a suite of social media designs for promotion, sponsor giveaways and more!

Keep A Breast encourages anyone to sign up and host a class or ask their gym or studio to participate. Sign-ups are happening now. Visit fit4prevention.org to sign up or attend an event near you.
