Los Angeles, CA, September 11, 2018 -- The Keep A Breast Foundation™ and Touchstone Climbing Gyms are collaborating this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month to feature a special pink climbing route at Cliffs of Id climbing gym located in Culver City, CA. Next to the starting hold of the route, an informational poster will be set to increase breast cancer awareness amongst climbers, so they are better informed and equipped to make choices and develop habits that will benefit their long-term health and well-being.
The Keep A Breast Foundation™ is a nonprofit organization with a mission to empower young people around the world with breast health education and support.
"Touchstone Climbing is inspired by the creativity and passion of The Keep A Breast Foundation. We are proud to collaborate with an organization that not only raises breast cancer awareness but also empowers young people affected by breast cancer to find healing and strength through artistic expression." said Heather Bellgreen of Touchstone Climbing.
In addition, Keep A Breast, Static Climbing, and Touchstone Climbing Gyms are collaborating this October to sell a limited edition waxed canvas boobies chalk bag. The bag will be sold throughout October on the Static Climbing website and at all Touchstone climbing gyms and will be benefiting the Keep A Breast’s educational programs.
“We could not be more excited about this collaboration. The climbing community is so cool and special, we cannot wait to be a part of it and share our message with them” said Shaney jo Darden, Founder and Global CCO of Keep A Breast.
Touchstone + The North Face will be having their second annual Woman Up Climbing Festival at Cliffs of Id. This two-day event will be on September 22nd & 23rd and is designed to both celebrate the incredible women present in every aspect of rock climbing—from routesetters to weekend warriors to professional athletes—and to inspire women to join the industry, achieve their personal goals, and find their community.
The festival kicks off with an all women's competition on Saturday the 22nd, featuring routes by the premier female routesetters in the country and designed for both the pros and anyone who’s ever been intimidated by climbing competitions. Some of the top pro-women climbers participating will be using the Keep A Breast boobies collab bag. Among these athletes, are US rock climbers: Beth Rodden, Katie Lambert, Lisa Rands, Alex Johnson and many more!
For more information about the Woman Up Festival head over to the touchstone climbing website. In the meantime, mark your calendars and tell your friends!
