LOS ANGELES, CA: Gritty in Pink and Keep A Breast are teaming up to celebrate Women’s History Month in style. On March 3, Gritty in Pink is once again rocking out at The Satellite, this time to help prevent breast cancer.
Gritty in Pink is a celebration of women in music featuring the one-and-only, all-girl jam plus rad, female-fronted bands. The event also features DJ Suzi Moon (@thesuzimoon) and is hosted by comedian Brandie Posey (brandazzle) and April Duran of 103.9 FM. It provides a showcase for women to share their voices and connect with other female musicians.

“Playing and producing my own music separates me from the world’s bullshit,” says Plasmic, who is performing on March 3. “ It allows me to be bigger than myself, prove sexist bigots wrong, and express myself in my own environment without rules, bias, or restrictions”
“I am beyond thrilled to present our Gritty in Pink March edition for Women’s History Month,” says Shiragirl. “Our all-girl Jam will feature songs by musical legends such as Aretha Franklin, Gloria Gaynor, Lesley Gore, Chaka Khan, Joan Jett, and Madonna. These women paved the way for us to do what we’re doing today. We are also very proud to announce our partnership with the Keep A Breast Organization, helping to spread the word about breast cancer prevention. What better way to celebrate women’s month?”
“Shira has been a champion of Keep a Breast for many years, since our early days on Vans Warped Tour,” says Saney Jo, founder of Keep A Breast. “We are excited to partner with her on Gritty in Pink, support women in music, and work together to amplify KAB’s core message that Prevention is the Cure.”
Come out March 3 to see some awesome local women join forces to prevent breast cancer.
